A lot of people are not aware that there are actually many kinds of meditation that they can perform to have a healthier mind, body, and soul. One of them is the Osho chakra breathing meditation and its goal is to open the body’s seven chakras, bringing awareness, vitality, and silence. It is an ‘active’ form of meditation that involves a combination of deep, rapid breathing and body movement.

Want to know more about Osho chakra breathing meditation? Read on.

Divided into two stages

Like other types of Osho meditation, chakra breathing meditation lasts for an hour and is accompanied by Osho music and bells. However, it only has two stages. The first one is 45 minutes long and the second stage is 15 minutes long.

The breathing exercises are performed during the first stage. You will be standing with your feet apart and your body loose and relaxed. You will be breathing deeply and rapidly, keeping your attention to the first chakra until you reach the last chakra. Each time you hear the sound of a bell, your attention should move from one chakra to another. While breathing, you are allowed to move, shake, and stretch your body and hands as you feel like it. But make sure that you are staying on the spot.

The second stage starts after the third breathing sequence. There’s nothing more to do but simply sit down and relax in silence.

Change the pattern of breathing, change the mind

You might not realize it, but you probably hardly breathe deeply and mindfully as you go about your day. And when you intentionally change the way you breathe during meditation, you also change the mind. That’s because breath and mind are connected.

Like other Osho meditation techniques, Osho chakra meditation breaks the mind’s pattern and stimulates many physiological effects, including reducing stress and anxiety. You will experience inner peace and silence as well as better focus and concentration.
